My impressions from the Osijek Doctoral Colloquium 2016
Olga Zaprometova, my long-time friend, called me on the phone and mentioned about a certain doctoral program in Croatia this summer. I said I had been so eager to study somewhere in Europe and felt it was the right time. She sent me the information about the program when the dead-line had passed. Olga was so sorry it could be too late to apply, and I told her that everything was in God’s hands.
To my great joy the application was accepted. On the day I was planning to go to apply for visa in the Croation Consulate in Moscow, there was a bad traffic. I thought I could be stuck in traffic. To my suprise in all the intersections I had a green light. Those who drive in Moscow will understand me well.
I was praying on my way and felt the joy inside of my heart and a clear understanding that God is opening the doors and gives a green light to something new, important and bigger than just an ordinary trip to a small town in Croatia. A manager in the Consulate was interested why I go to Osijek, and when I told him the reason, he said in Russian — «S Bogom», which means — God be with you!
When I was planning my trip I could not fully know what the Lord had in store for me. I only new the topic for my furure dissertation, but I did not know what university to apply to.
I was so happy to meet Martine Audeoud as my mentor, discuss the statements of the problem and the purpose of the problem and to my great surprise to learn, that there is a good choice for me to write a proposal to the Bakke Graduate University.
During my meeting on discussing the thesis with Martine Audeoud, Olga Zaprometova and Peter Penner I came to a concrete conclusion what direction of work to choose. And I so thankful to all of them for their wonderful help and guidance!
The program was very well organized and all parts of it were very important — the morning devotions, discussions at coffee breaks, work in the library, presentations.
This program went beyond my expectations — the most important first steps have been made, the univerity is chosen! I am very grateful to everyone who made it possible! All the people at the School have been very supportive and ready to help.
